The End of the Wall of Time | 2. Attempt

(W.G. Sebald)

It has been a while since
the inscriptor has attempted to carve
something reasonable into the wall
of time. It has also been exactly a year
since this logfile was started.
I think it is fair to say that
every thing has been tried out,
every possible trick has been played
—to no avail.

The inscriptors remain on their own,
the passage of time makes them lose
their hair, lose their girlfriends,
lose their minds, lose their lives
(in no particular order).

It should all come to an end,
to a halt—and if the time cannot
than so please shall our fight with it.
